Police say that they have received numerous calls about the 4-month-old puppy that was found burned Sunday. The dog has severe burns over half of its body and signs of infection.
Well, Green Ford President Dean Green said he hopes that police find the culprit — and soon.
"Whoever it is should be punished for it," he said of the burning. "I don't understand the reasoning."
Green, the husband of longtime animal activist Marilyn Green, has given potential informants an extra incentive to help detectives solve the case.
What's the incentive? A reward up to $1,000.
Anonymous callers who dial 373-1000 and provide tips to Crime Stoppers already are eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
Greensboro detectives canvassed an area of the city today and passed out fliers. They ask that anyone who has any information to please call Crime Stoppers at 373-1000 or call Detective E.J. Bruscino at 574-4071.
