From the archive: Quakers '73 championship
With Guilford College in the Division III Final Four, our news librarian, Diane Lamb, went looking for images from the Quakers 1973 NAIA championship run. Here, M.L. Carr is treated with ammonia after falling on the floor during a Guilford College game in January 1973 (the championship would come in March). The photo, taken by Jim Stratford, is the only one she found in our archives. We no longer have negatives from the early 1970s.
We do have microfilm, however. And though the initial story of the championship game was short with no photos, the Greensboro Daily News followed it up with this on the sports front on March 19, 1973. (View the article in a .pdf)
