More from the AP: "The highly anticipated gadget has a 9.7-inch touch screen, is a half-inch thick, weighs 1.5 pounds and comes with 16, 32 or 64 gigabytes of flash memory storage. The basic iPad models will cost $499, $599 and $699, depending on the storage size."

For some people, anything associated with Apple is golden. Must. Have. It. Now.
Others? No rush, especially if the price is too steep.
Apple CEO Steve Jobs today introduced the iPad, which starts at $499, as better for reading books, playing games and watching video than laptops or smart phones.
Are you sold? Or is the price too high, especially in this economy when you're lucky to have a job?
Or maybe you're just not feeling it. Yes, it's a shiny new Apple product. But you're not exactly blown away by it either.
