Fishers Grille special sauces hit the spot

If you've ever eaten Fishers Grille, you've probably wondered about those bottles of sauce on every table that have the choice names -- Dirty Doug and Fishers Finest.

Well, it has everything to do with experimentation. Just ask owner Doug Jones.

"We used to be closed on Sundays, and I would experiment with different sauces, and I got these particular sauces that I was proud of, and I wanted to see how they would go over,'' he says.

Well, those sauces went over well.

Dirty Doug is hot, great with wings. Fishers Finest is smooth, great with french fries. Jones says he sells about "couple of thousands of dollars'' every year of the small bottled sauces. And at $2 a bottle, that's a bunch of sauce.

But ask him about the bottles you find at every table, every booth, and Jones says he goes through about 60 to 70 bottles a week.

So, you gotta figure that experiment on Sundays must've worked.
