Gov. Bev Perdue met with reporters this week. Among the questions I asked was how involved she planned to be on the campaign trail and how important was it for her agenda that Democrats maintain control of the General Assembly.
She artfully managed not to answer the question too dead on. Perdue did say she was concerned that overly partisan rhetoric could derail progress on economic recovery.
“So I’m not going to have you writing a story saying, ‘She’s going to put on her donkey ears and go out and bray all over the state,’” Perdue said. “I intend to help good people get elected.”
