Guilford Day School hosted it's first Walk'n Wag event last Saturday. And despite the rain, 250 people amd 71 dogs walked or ran the 5K course. There were costume contests, food and lots of fun. Registration and other proceeds went to Red Dog Farm, a Triad area rescue group that helps dogs, cats and other domestic animals find homes.
As someone who volunteers for a rescue group, it warms my heart to know those in the community, such as Guilford Day School, decide to help animals in need. According to Jennifer Aceves, the director of communications at Guilford Day School, "Just as Red Dog Farm provides animals with another chance to find a new lease on life, Guilford Day School provides students with learning differences another chance to find a successful educational experience."
We here at The Pet Shop enjoy seeing how folks in the community are reaching out to the four-legged members of the Triad. So keep the photos and information coming!
