My boyfriend Bruce and I have been running together before he leaves for work each morning. Which is normally at 6 a.m.
In the many years I've had cats, I have grown tolerant to a cat walking on me. Julian and Abbey sleep in the bed with me, so four tiny paws on my chest, stomach or arm doesn't really wake me. But a headbutt right in the face from Abbey did just the trick Monday morning. I woke up, noticed the clock said 7 a.m., and yelled at Bruce to wake up. He was going to be late for work. And we had missed our run.
Abbey was just hungry. She was in her routine of eating around 7 a.m., after Bruce and I had been running. And in her world, it was time to eat. Thank goodness she expressed her hunger pains to me. Otherwise, who knows how late we would have slept.
