Criticism continues to follow the evangelical scientist

Criticism of his evangelical beliefs has caused Francis Collins, the new president of the National Institutes of Health , to proclaim, "I want to reassure everyone I am here to lead the NIH as best I can, as a scientist."

I have known several deeply religious scientists in my life. All of them have had no problem with setting aside any religious misconceptions like a young earth or unchanging creation in order to pursue the work of scientists: discovering facts and developing theories that can explain the facts in natural terms. It appears that Dr. Collins fits that group very well indeed.
