Planning a garage sale or church bazaar? Beware of new law

The feds are cracking down on second sales of dangerous and defective products.

It's part of a campaign called Resale Roundup.

It targets toys and other products for children and enforces a new provision that makes it a crime to resell anything that's been recalled by its manufacturer.

Those affected include thrift-store operators such as the Salvation Army and Goodwill, residents holding yard sales and church bazaars or those selling stuff on eBay, Craigslist and other Web sites.
