Top dog in N.C. will be crowned on Sunday

High Point Canine Solutions is sponsoring a Top Dog competition at 3 p.m. Sunday at Wesleyan Christian Academy in High Point. Some of North Carolina’s top K-9 officers will demonstrate their dogs' abilities.

The event will be held at Wesleyan Christian Academy’s soccer field, 1917 N. Centennial St. Admission is free.

A top dog will be recognized in several categories and then an overall award will be given for "Top Dog of N.C." Honorary Master of Ceremonies will be Rep. Howard Coble (R-N.C.). Radio host Chuch Marsh from 93.1 The Wolf, has agreed to take a bite from the “Top Dog of N.C."

Raffle tickets for a Carolina Panthers practice football signed by Steve Smith will be $5.

All proceeds for the event go to the Officer Down Memorial Fund. T-shirts will be sold for $15.
