Consumer Reports magazine in its section about advertising goofs and gotchas mentions a pair of Gingher scissors the company boasts was touched by the hands of "dedicated craftsmen" at its factory in Greensboro.
Not just touched a few times either.
According to Consumer Reports, "Gingher scissors, the tag says, 'were touched more than fifty times by the hands of many dedicated craftsmen at our facxtory in Greensboro, North Carolina.' The label even names namees: Mark M., Carolyn M., and Wayne N. inspect or sharpen blades."
Then there's the fine print.
It reads "Scissors Made In Italy. Tin Made in China."
Not all of the newspaper's content appears online.
