House conferees
House Speaker Joe Hackney names his budget conferees this afternoon. Click here to read the full list.
Of interest locally: Rep. Laura Wiley, a High Point Republican, was appointed to the committee despite voting against the budget.
Reps. Maggie Jeffus, Alma Adams and Hugh Holliman will be among the “big chairs” of the committee, meaning that they’ll be at the penultimate decision-making level.
Reps. Pricey Harrison and Nelson Cole will be among the budget conferees and Rep. Earl Jones will be among the Finance Conferees.
