Graduation Day photos

As I wrote earlier, we photo staffed every public high school graduation ceremony in Guilford County. (Two to go tonight.)

Early results: More than 5,500 page views -- which on a weekend isn't bad at all -- with Grimsley and Dudley in a tight race for most traffic.

Probably not surprising, Andrews and High Point Central slideshows trail the pack. (No reflection on those schools or their students; they're located in High Point, which has a daily newspaper and Web site. We just need to get them in the habit of coming to our site for stuff.)

Update: I stand corrected. We shot the traditional high schools.

Maybe it's just my imagination, but I I had no idea Guilford County Schools had so few white graduates and families.

Thak you for posting these photo galleries. There are so many happy moments to be captured on graduation day--so much earned pride in so many young faces. It was quite rewarding to flip through the pictures.

I would like to know WHY aren't there any pictures from the TWILIGHT HIGH SCHOOL graduation???!!! These students worked very very hard to get to this day and there was a lady there who said she was taking pictures of all the graduations in the county and all the other schools photo's have been published, why not Twilight High School??

I don't think the person at the Twilight School was from the News & Record. We chose not to include any of the alternative high schools because we had never done this before, didn't know how many we could handle with our staffing or how it would work. So, we decided to limit the schools we shot and that seemed to be a good dividing line.

It went more smoothly than we thought and next year we'll include all of the schools. I regret that we missed the graduates this year.
